After Floyd Mayweather defeated Marcos Maidana for the second time in a little over four months to raise his unblemished record to 47-0 Saturday night, the question that most hardcore and casual boxing fans alike have wanted the answer to was asked. Will Money Mayweather ever get in the ring to face Manny Pacquiao?

“I’m not ducking or dodging any opponent,’’ Mayweather said in a post-fight press conference. “If the Manny Pacquiao fight presents itself, let’s make it happen. I don’t know who I’ll fight in May but I expect to fight. Manny needs to focus on the guy that’s in front of him. Once he gets past that task we’ll see what the future holds.” The fight Pacman needs to get past is a Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, bout against New Yorker Chris Algieri in Macau, China.

Under his current deal with CBS and Showtime, Mayweather has two fights remaining on his six-fight deal worth a reported $400 million. Another rumored possibility for Mayweather has been Amir Kahn, who he was originally scheduled to fight earlier this year. With two fights remaining, could fighting Khan in London at Wembley Stadium and fighting Pacman in either Las Vegas or Macau become a reality? Even if it doesn’t happen next year, with a nickname like Money, CBS and Showtime may be able to convince the undefeated star to fight more. Either way, all eyes will be on Pacman to make the next move after his bout in November.
