It was just a few years ago that Frank Ocean reportedly changed his name to Christopher Francis Ocean. But according to a new report, Ocean’s now tired of that name as well and wants to change his real name to his stage name. But he’s got a long way to go before his government name changes and it’s all because Ocean is apparently a bad driver.
Ocean, who was born Christopher Edwin Breaux, applied for a legal name change back on March 7, but according to TMZ his request was denied because the singer has three tickets on his driver’s license.
The report reveals that Ocean got the tickets in a three-month span in 2013, and they include one in June for driving with expired insurance, one in July for driving with his headlights off, and another in August for driving 31 mph over the speed limit.
Reportedly, Ocean’s license has been suspended a couple of times for missing court dates over his tickets and a judge decided to deny Ocean’s request for a legal name change until he settles his traffic issues in court.
However, Ocean isn’t the only one in his family who’s suffered a legal setback. Find out how his father lost in a major way in court as well. –nicholas robinson
