Rihanna look-alike makes career out of her resemblance

A 22-year-old Boston woman, Andele Lara, claims to be the spitting image of pop music’s resident bad gal, Rihanna. And she’s proven that life as a doppelgänger can be pretty beneficial!

Lara tells The Daily Mail, “The comments started in my sophomore year. My friend had a magazine with Rihanna on the cover. He held it up to my face and was like, ‘You look like her!’ ”

However, as RiRi’s worldwide fame blossomed, so did the amount of people mistaking Lara for the rising star. Due to her resemblance, Lara is mobbed by screaming fans and propositioned by brands interested in capitalizing on her look-alike appearance. As you can imagine, this has prompted the young woman to become a professional Rihanna look-alike.

“I know I could happily give up my part-time job and studies to have a career as a Rihanna lookalike.” she continued.

To date, Lara claims that she is paid $20,000 by clothing brands to plug their products and has also landed contracts to promote beauty products, kicks and more, with very little effort.

But with the sweet, comes the sour… while Lara’s biggest wish to come out of all this would be to “meet RiRi and take a selfie with her!” the chances of that happening don’t look so peachy.

Not too long ago, a fan posted a snap of Lara on Instagram with the caption, “Rare pic of Rihanna,” unwittingly opening a can of worms for the look-alike. Apparently, it caught Rihanna’s attention to which she commented, “OH?!,” causing hundreds of her followers to blast Lara’s Instagram feed, which has remained private ever since. We can only imagine how Rihanna’s Navy went in on this girl!

Do you see the resemblance?

How do you feel about “ordinary” people who cash in on looking like a popular A-lister? Is it right? –ruu hawkins/@ruubabie
