Fans of Drake and Diddy were shocked this week when news spread that Diddy attacked Drake outside of a Miami Beach nightclub on Monday morning. Although the world has been talking about the fight, stories have differed about why the fight went down. Now, a new report claims that Diddy attacked Drake over music.
As previously reported, Diddy allegedly punched Drake in the face at LIV nightclub in Miami Beach after the Young Money rapper disrespected him.
Although early reports claimed the punch was over Drake disrespecting Diddy’s girlfriend, Cassie, TMZ reports that sources say the attack was over an argument about a song they both wanted.
The sources say that more than eight months ago producer Boi-1da gave both Diddy and Drake a track to record on. But despite Drake’s eagerness to record the track, Diddy decided to sit on the record, which frustrated Drake. Finally, Drake got fed up with waiting on Diddy and he recorded the song on his own, which is now known as the Grammy-nominated song “0 to 100/ The Catch Up.”
Diddy allegedly saw Drake at LIV for the first time since he recorded the song and confronted the younger rapper about taking the song for himself. When Drake tried to blow Diddy off, Diddy became enraged and allegedly yelled “You’ll never disrespect me again” before punching Drake in the face.
Sources claim that Drake ended up in the ER because he hit his shoulder in the chaos and ended up stressing an old injury.
The report hasn’t been confirmed yet, but something tells us we won’t be getting any confirmation from Drake or Diddy. –nicholas robinson
