Last weekend, tennis stars Serena Williams and Venus Williams were joined by thousands of spectators and participants, including members of Black Girls Run for the inaugural Serena Williams Ultimate Run South Beach, a quarter marathon and 5K run-walk benefitting the Serena Williams Foundation.
The charitable organization’s mission is to “provide assistance to youth whose parents and families have been affected by violent crimes and to assist underprivileged youth around the world in receiving the highest quality education available to them.”
