Since before even Redd Foxx and Richard Pryor hit the stage, black comedians have been pros at getting the laughs. In every genre, from TV to big screen and even live, black comedians have reigned supreme. And, as with any form of entertainment, you have certain guys that are just really hot right now; so we’ve highlighted a few of the names that you’re sure to recognize.
JB Smoove. Many people were unaware of this under-the-radar comedic genius before “Husbands of Hollywood,” but he’s been cracking sides for years. Smoove is one of the kindest and unpretentious comedians you’ll ever meet.
Charlie Murphy. More than Eddie’s big brother; Charlie has “seriously” made a name for himself as one of the funniest comedians in the business.
Terry Crews.Terry has had a career that is really stranger than fiction. He is a former pro football player turned comedy actor, game show host and reality TV star. And he’s good at it all.
Key and Peele. The title says Kevin Hart and 5 comedians instead of six because these two are a package deal. They are so hilariously funny that when their show goes into hiatus, their YouTube channel goes berserk with views of reruns to tide everybody over.
Craig Robinson. Craig has brought his particular brand of fun to a number of movies and television appearances, and never fails to make us laugh.
Kevin Hart. Has been making the world laugh since the bathroom scene in Soul Plane. Now, with multiple concerts, tours, movies and a hit TV show, he is at the top of his game and going higher.
