With a wide range of categories being released every year, black movies are expanding and black actors are not subject to typecasting anymore. Though, there were more black movies and roles than ever before, we’re focusing on just the top seven for the year here. Kudos to the fine acting talent that helped to make these movies the standouts of the year.
If you’re looking for excellent black movies to add to your viewing list, try to catch some of these while they’re still in theaters — or try out your cable provider’s on-demand portal — or you can just wait for the DVD and have your own permanent copy.
