Kelly Renee Gissendaner was tried and convicted of murdering her husband, Doug Gissendaner, in 1998 in Gwinnett County, Georgia. Gissendaner is now scheduled to die by lethal injection on Feb. 25, 2015, at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson.
The state of Georgia has now released her last meal request which shows that she intends to have a hearty appetite on the last day of her life. Her last meal will consist of the following:
Cornbread
Side of buttermilk
Two Whoppers with cheese (with everything)
Two large orders of French fries
Cherry vanilla ice cream
Popcorn
Salad with boiled eggs, tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, carrots, cheese and Paul Newman buttermilk dressing
Lemonade
Gissendaner will be the 35th inmate put to death by lethal injection since 1973 in Georgia. Eighty-one men are currently on death row in Georgia; Gissendaner is the only woman.
