It may not be an endorsement from Oprah Winfrey herself, but it’s pretty darn close. Gayle King, Wifrey’s gal pal, is ready to get fit and flawless for the summer and announced her celeb-friendly diet plan on Twitter.
“Fatter than I have ever been! Help has just arrived in the form of @Beyoncé 22 day vegan diet lunar pasta, brown rice pilaf, rosemary white beans! Very new for me so we shall see. … Thinking its Beyonce approved so off we go. Thanx Yvette! @ynsmedia,” wrote the CBS “This Morning” co-anchor. While King is the only celebrity we can name to attempt the challenge since the vegan delivery service’s launch in February, we’re sure that her seal of approval will urge others to hop on the bandwagon.
Earlier this year, the Queen B along with her trainer, Marcus Borges, released “22 Days Nutrition,” a vegan meal plan birthed from the idea that it takes 21 days to break or make habits. Described as a “plant-based home delivery meal service” that offers yummy organic meals that are non-GMO, gluten-free, soy-free, and dairy-freem unlike many celebrity diets, this vegan diet also seems to offer a little wiggle room when it comes to grubbing on carbs. Choices include a Sesame-Cabbage Lentil Bowl, Ratatouille Pasta with Pesto, and an Almond Blueberry Breakfast loaf.
“I am so grateful that I took the challenge and credit Marco with leading by example. He is the most energetic person I know and it’s all because of his decision to live a healthy lifestyle. He came up with a great program to get people motivated to make better nutritional choices. All you have to do is try. If I can do it, anyone can. I am excited to partner with him,” Knowles said about her latest venture.
