Apollo Nida sat down with Jamie Foster Brown and a few other media outlets before he was sentenced to prison.
Not having a voice from the start of his appearances on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” made Nida appear weak to many. This is the main reason it was so important to Nida to have a voice (finally) to let the world know his views and the truth from his perspective. Once news broke about Nida’s legal problems, he started to receive unwanted attention.
Finally, in an interview with S2S publisher Brown, Nida clears the air about the text messages to Kenya Moore, the initial reason behind his anger toward Brandon (Kenya Moore’s assistant), his thoughts on the media and his feelings on reality TV and the court of public opinion.
On real life vs. reality TV …
“This is our real life, and this situation is not being staged for the cameras. I have real legal issues and what viewers are watching is our real life as it’s being played out on reality TV.”
Public opinion …
“The media and blogs like to turn things into theatrics, where we have real situations.”
Kenya Moore …
“Kenya Moore is a girl’s guy, a guy’s girl; She’s competitive and she has the type of characteristics and hustle a man would like.”
On what’s at stake …
“You have children involved, investments and endorsements on the line.”.
Nida also made reference to him being Kenya’s storyline for two years and how he understands reality TV and everyone having to turn up the drama for a check.
Bravo clips have shown scenes of Phaedra Parks sitting in an attorney’s office requesting to file for divorce. There have been many opinions from the public and comments about Parks not sticking by the father of her two children’s side. But Nida’s seemingly erratic behavior immediately before turning himself in had many agreeing that Parks needed to move on.
Ultimately, we don’t want to see any of our Black reality television star couples divorce, especially when there are children involved. However, from what we have witnessed regarding the personality and disposition of Parks, we know her goal is to do what is in the best interest of her family, especially her children.
