Once again cops in McKinney, Texas are in the news for assaulting Black people. Last month, the police department received national attention and public outrage when excessive force was used on Black teens at a pool party. In another display of over-the-top behavior an innocent, an unarmed Black man was held at gunpoint and assaulted on his front lawn based on a false 911 call.

According to the cop in the video, someone called stating that there were guns on the property and that there were threats to shoot the cops if they returned to the neighborhood. Based on this information, cops confronted and assaulted Andrew Guilford, 24, and a friend as they sat in lawn chairs.

When asked why they were being handcuffed, the unidentified cop states, “Because we got a call, people saying they were going to shoot the police when they came back! It’s on 9-1-1!”

Guilford and his friends repeatedly deny the accusation. This didn’t stop the officers from continuing the assault and even attempting to enter Guilford’s home without a warrant. The cops eventually released Guilford and his friend after it became clear they committed no crime.
