The Essence 2015 festival in New Orleans was a complete blast and the place was crawling with celebrities. Chef Roblé was spotted looking very stylish. Selma director/writer Ava DuVernay was seen up front checking out Missy Elliot’s incredible performance. Cynthia Bailey of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” was seen spying on Noel and her date. “Fashion Queens'” Bevy Smith and Ms. Lawrence were prancing around the arena. Mike Epps passed by Lisa Wu and he looked quite dapper. I believe I even spotted Houston’s OG Muzic Group labelmates Robery Davis “Pokey” and Laboo in the “IN” crowd. Paula Jai Parker seemed to be enjoying herself with her hubby in tow.
This was the first time I didn’t see Uncle Charlie (last name Wilson) close out the show on Sunday night. This time old school sophisticated night was on Friday instead of Sunday night. I’ve also never seen so many fancy motorized wheelchairs dusted off, polished up and seated with some classy, dressed up seniors rolling out to the concert, (literally).
Of course, the combination closing of Maze featuring Frankie Beverly and Charlie Wilson was sure to bring all the celebrities out; artists arrived to see Uncle Charlie who gets down with his dancers for a complete hour, nonstop!
Check out the celebrity pics and see who the Brown-eye-reporter spotted at the Mercedes Benz Superdome this weekend after the cut.
