Benzino and his fiancée Althea Eaton made headlines this week when they revealed that they’re expecting their first baby together. But now they’ve made headlines over reality TV drama as a new video leak claims to prove Benzino faked his engagement to Eaton.
In the first half of the video, Benzino is seen getting down on one knee and waiting on Eaton in a hallway to turn a corner so he can surprise her and pop the big question. When Eaton finds Zino, she looks genuinely shocked and the two share a romantic, but rather relaxed moment after she says “yes.”
However, the second half of the video shows the proposal that was aired on “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta,” in which Benzino proposed to Eaton in a Ferris wheel.
It’s not clear which one took place first, but we assume it was the scene from the first half.
Although it’s clear that one of the scenes had to have been staged for the cameras, this isn’t that shocking considering many reality TV stars over the years have claimed that producers will ask them to re-create real life scenarios for the cameras.
Even “LAHHA” star Joseline Hernandez, who was sued by Eaton over their reunion show fight, claimed in her court deposition that her co-stars were acting on the show.
“Well, with reality TV it’s mostly … it’s called reality, but it’s a lot of acting in the reality world. I say that because it’s a lot of the girls on the show, they act. It’s a lot of acting in the reality TV show, whether it’s ‘Love & Hip Hop’ or another show,” Hernandez said.
In any case, Zino and Eaton are actually engaged and still plan to tie the knot.
