Christy Sims will live with scars for life because of a jealous and controlling ex-boyfriend. According to WSB-TV, Sims was viciously attacked by Andrew Fordham because she was about to end their relationship.

In 2013, Sims was at her home when Fordham, 44, asked her to bring him a towel to the bathroom. When she approached the door, Fordham began acting as if he was about to slip and threw sulfuric acid in her face, chest and arms.

Sims began screaming because her eyes were burning. She attempted to wash the acid off, but Fordham wouldn’t allow her to and said that water would ignite chemicals.

When the paramedics arrived, they asked Fordham why he didn’t wash Sims or give her a shower. Sims was left with burns that covered 20 percent of her body and was in a coma for two months.

Fordham claimed it was an accident, but a jury found Fordham guilty of aggravated assault and two counts of aggravated battery. He faces 20 years in prison on each count.
