Just last week, D.L. Hughley was at the center of controversy after he said that Caitlyn Jenner looks like Mrs. Doubtfire. Now, Hughley, is making headlines again after blasting Bill Cosby over his infamous rape accusations.
The drama began when Hughley appeared on “Sway in the Morning” this week and joked about the more than 45 women who have accused Cosby of drugging and raping them.
“Remember the first four or five people, Black people was like, ‘Aw they lying!’ But at 45, we like, ‘He f—– everybody!’ I’ll never look at Jell-O pudding pops the same way … Cliff Huxtable is innocent of these charges, but Bill Cosby f—– everyone,” Hughley joked.
Hughley then recalled a phone interview he had with Cosby when he was a radio host for Kiss FM.
“In 2009, remember when KISS FM was here, I was hosting the show. And people don’t know that Bill Cosby actively tried to get Def Jam [Def Comedy Jam] off there; he didn’t like it at all. So we had had a run-in and I knew he didn’t like me and I didn’t like him. Bill called in to do an interview and about 10 minutes in he was being such a d— so I said ‘Mr. Cosby what is it you want us to know?’ He said, ‘Who is this?’ I said, ‘DL Hughley.’ He said, ‘D.L. Hughley! You say n—- and you do this and you say.’ And I said, ‘With all due respect, Mr. Cosby, when I say the N-word, no girl ends up with her underwear on backwards and is drugged. When I say n—-, when I cuss, it’s onstage, not a police report.’ We go back and forth and he says, ‘this is not gonna air.’ And I say, ‘the f— it ain’t’ and I thought it would. Ten minutes later, the people from Kiss FM came down and took the tape and said ‘This will not air and if it does none of you will ever work in radio again.’ It didn’t air. So I know he has that power,” Hughley explained.
“You can be profane, you can be profound. He’s a lot of ‘ists.’ He’s a humorist. He’s a humanitarian. He’s a rapist. That’s the way that is. You can be all them,” Hughley added.
