The recent Chicago Learnapalooza event brought engaging activities that stimulate the mind to the residents of South Side neighborhoods like Bronzeville. The event was organized by Public Allies, which is a part of the AmeriCorps national service network brand.

“Learnapalooza skill-sharing event is organized by six AmeriCorps Public Allies. The event is also traditionally hosted each summer in North Side neighborhoods and was made possible this year in Bronzeville and neighboring communities by community partnerships with the Little Black Pearl and Public Allies. Volunteer workshop leaders and participants passionate about the arts and skill-sharing, along with the generous support of sponsors like Just Turkey and Neighborhood Wal-Mart, are what made this event a memorable experience for the summer.” said Anthony Rubio, Public Allies coordinator.

The event included workshops on financial literacy and coaching, health and fitness, urban ecology and art expression.
