Perhaps realizing they have a good thing on their hands, Starz has renewed burgeoning comedy “Survivor’s Remorse” for a third season just a handful of episodes into the show’s second season.
Starz execs say they are pleased with the direction of the show and its growing audience.
“We are thrilled to renew “Survivor’s Remorse” for a third season,” said exec Carmi Zlotnik. “Since it began, the critics instantly embraced the show, and now we’ve seen its fans grow season over season. This all-star creative team, led expertly by Mike O’Malley, boldly tackles the most topical of issues with heart and humor as the Calloway family deals with ‘pro-money and pro-problems’ off the basketball court. We are very happy and proud to have them return to Starz for another season.”
The hit show, created by Mike O’Malley (Certainty, Shameless) and executive produced by NBA star LeBron James, is centered around a young, professional basketball player who moves to Atlanta and brings his family along for the ride as he deals with newfound fame and fortune. The cast includes Tichina Arnold, Mike Epps, RonReaco Lee, Erica Ash, Teyonah Parris, and Jesse T. Usher.
“Survivor’s Remorse” airs on Starz on Saturdays at 9:30 p.m. est.
