Caitlyn Jenner has spent the last several months taking the major steps to transition into a woman and although she’s physically completed all of the surgeries she wanted, there’s reportedly two things she still has left to do: legally change her name and her gender.
According to TMZ, Jenner filed documents in L.A. County Superior Court on Tuesday to officially request a legal name and gender change.
However, sources say Jenner is afraid of providing necessary information to the courts because of threats she’s received from some of her detractors. Sources say Jenner filed a declaration in court explaining that although there are numerous fans that are supportive of her, there have been numerous occasions where she’s received threats of physical harm from transphobic bullies.
Jenner is afraid that if she has to provide information such as her medical history and it becomes public knowledge, it may make things worse for her.
Wanting to avoid more threats and scrutiny, Jenner is asking that the judge keep her private information sealed away from the public.
Well, we can understand why she wants to protect herself, especially since so many other transgender people are susceptible to the same threat of bodily harm over their identities.
