Actresses Gabrielle Dennis, Lorraine Toussaint talk new prime-time drama, ‘Rosewood’

Actresses Gabrielle Dennis (“The Game”) and Lorraine Toussaint (“Orange is the New Black”) brought the crowd to their feet following the screening of FOX’s new health drama, “Rosewood.” Buzz about the primetime TV show, starring Morris Chestnut, attracted a packed housed at Regal Cinemas LA LIVE 14 for the final leg of the touring screenings that launched in Atlanta and Charlotte, NC, simultaneously. Dennis, who plays Dr. Beaumont Rosewood’s sister, Pippy, shared the intricacy and the dynamic of family. Touissant plays his mother, Donna.

A talented pathologist Dr. Rosewood, played by Morris Chestnut, must live each day to the fullest in light of the fact that he has a debilitating illness. At the New York screening, Chestnut shared how he felt it was important for the specially-invited audiences at the varied screenings around the country to share their perspective of the show. And, he also asked fans to allow time for the story to unfold.


“Rosewood” has fashioned a cast that has the necessary layers and textures to be engaging and relatable. It is this critic’s opinion, “Rosewood” has great potential to bring a new value to the medical profession, specifically the field of pathology.

The screening allowed for a Q-and-A opportunity with the stars who shared how they get along on set and how they’ve enjoyed working together.


“Rosewood airs Wednesdays on FOX starting September 23 at 8 p.m. ET. It is the lead show to the phenomenally successful drama, “Empire.”
