NeNe Leakes’ departure from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” this year left a gaping hole in fans’ hearts who yearned to see her continue to shade her co-stars on a weekly basis. But even though Leakes is out for season eight of the show, but she recently said she might return to the franchise at some point in the future.
In an interview with “Extra’s” AJ Calloway, Leakes spoke about quitting “RHOA” and was asked if she would ever return to the brand that launched her career.
“It’s a possibility. Look, being on ‘The Housewives of Atlanta’ was great for me. It opened up many doors and opportunities… I would go back at some point, but right now for season eight, I want to take a break. I just want to step back. Chill out a minute, do a few other things …,” Leakes explained.
Leakes then talked about the series of physical attacks that have occurred on the show over the last few seasons, including the allegation that Cynthia Bailey kicked Porsha Williams in the stomach during a heated argument. As Leakes sees it, she never needed to stoop to fighting on the show.
“Since day one, I’ve never had a physical fight on the show [‘RHOA’]. Ever. My words are so ruthless, you feel slapped,” she explained.
She then added that one of the reasons she decided to leave “RHOA” was the growing intensity of the fights. “To start to physically fight each other, no. We’re way too old for that.”
Well, considering how dramatic the reports are about filming for the new season of “RHOA,” we doubt that Leakes will back on the show any time soon.
