Zachery and Yvonne Ervin, both age 50, have chosen to “forgive” their sons, Cameron Ervin, 22, and Christopher Ervin, 17, who drugged, beat and stabbed them, who attempted to murder them so they could “cash in on their life insurance.”

On September 5, the Ervin boys drugged their unsuspecting parents with Xanax, a medication prescribed for anxiety issues, stress and panic attacks, which can produce a drunken feeling. Yvonne was strangled and beaten and Zachery was strangled and stabbed at their Gwinnett County (Snellville, Georgia) home, in suburban Atlanta.

Yvonne was able to call the Gwinnett County Police Department via 911 while her husband, Zachery, distracted their sons. When law enforcement arrived, they found a bloodied Zachery in the garage and Yvonne alerted them she was drugged and doused with a flammable liquid.

The incorrigible siblings face charges including aggravated assault and arson. They tried to blow up their parent’s home using candles and the fire place powered by natural gas.

On Friday, Sep. 18, 2015, the parents visited their sons for the first time since the brutal attack. They shared with media, “Those were not our boys that did that to us.” Yvonne adds, “We did not raise our boys that way. We want to world to know we love and forgive our sons unconditionally.”

Both sons are currently being held without bond.

She closes, “We understand there are consequences for what they did, they understand that, but we’re just praying that the world forgives them the same way that we forgive them. God has done miraculous healing for us both mentally and physically.”

It’s unclear which son, but one fantasized about killing his parents when he was age 11 and collecting the insurance money, according to a search warrant report.

Listen to her 911 call after the jump. “My children are trying to kill me.”
