In what may be a case of his own lyrics coming back to haunt him, Rick Ross is being sued by a woman who claims she was drugged and sexually assaulted while passed out.
The unidentified woman, who is being referred to simply as Jane Doe, says she met up with Ross and his entourage at the W hotel in Los Angeles during Grammy weekend. She says she was invited to join the group as they attended Cannabis Cup (a marijuana convention) and upon riding in the van with the group she was given a drink that made her dizzy and subsequently pass out.
After waking up, the woman says she went to the hotel room of Ross’ associate Thaddeus “Black” James, where she again passed out and woke up the next morning to find herself completely naked and showing signs of having been sexually assaulted.
Though the woman believes James was alone in the assault, she has named Ross to the suit because he owned the van they rode in and she believes Ross was fully knowledgeable of the situation prior to the alleged assault.
Ross, of course, came under fire a couple of years back when many construed his lyrics in Rocko’s “U.O.E.N.O. (Remix)” as condoning date rape. “Put Molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it/ I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it,” rapped Ross on the hit 2013 song. After much public outcry and the loss of some endorsement deals, the rapper issued a statement apologizing for his “offensive choice of words” and assured fans the lyrics did not reflect his “true heart.”
Thus far, Ross has yet to issue a statement on the current allegations.
