With music in the bag and a growing fashion venture underway, Toronto rap star Drake is now turning his attention to the restaurant business.
The “Energy” rapper threw a big party on Monday, Sept. 21 to celebrate the opening of a new restaurant he partly owns called, Fring’s. The eatery, a joint venture with noted chef Susur Lee, will feature classic comfort foods with an Asian twist.
Located in the fashion district, the restaurant sits at 455 King St. in the location that once housed the popular Crush Wine Bar. A number of notables were in attendance at the grand opening event, including Jada Pinkett Smith, Jaden Smith, model Mercedes Edison and Serena Williams. Drizzy is said to have served as DJ for the night while guests enjoyed cocktails and a sneak peek at a few menu items, including salmon tartare on garlic chips and homemade French fries with a vinegar mayo.
