The crew at New Era is breaking in their new offices in style, New Era is hosting a four-part event series along with The Fader called “Night Cap Sessions.” The sessions are held in their new offices in Manhattan’s Flatiron District, and they will be featuring a series of performances and complimentary cocktails. This week, the featured artist was Brooklyn rhymer Donmonique.
The 20-year-old hails from East New York and she has been making waves with tracks like “Jada” and “We Don’t.” She’s as brash as she wanna be, with a versatility that could take the young spitter far in the rap game. And on this particular night, she had the crowd’s attention from the first verse. “I feel like I am what I rap about,” she says, “I’m bringing a type of sound that no one’s ever heard before,” she told Billboard back in August.
DJ Chase B handled the sounds for most of the night, as cocktails were served and attendees checked out the new digs and mingled throughout the night. The event met all of its stated goals; showing off New Era’s new space, getting a lot of cool people together to meet and greet, and showcasing a hot new talent.
If nothing else, everyone in attendance left knowing Donmonique’s name and sporting New Era gear. That’s a win for everybody.
