Cleveland continues to suffer from overwhelming violence and LeBron James is sick of it. The NBA star shared his anger after a baby was shot to death in the city.
According to reports by FOX 8 Cleveland, the child’s mother was driving with the baby near East 145th when the shooting occurred. The bullet, which likely came from a nearby apartment, hit the baby in the chest.
Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams cried during a recent press conference, and James voiced his displeasure with the incident on Twitter.
“Like seriously man!!! A baby shot in the chest in Cleveland. it’s been out of control but it’s really out of control. Ya’ll need to chill the F— out….Let’s do and be better! Don’t fall into the trap. This can’t be the only way. Accept more from yourselves.”
Weeks prior to the murder of the infant, Ramon Burnett, 5, and Major Howard, 3, were killed in separate drive-by shootings. According to Cleveland.com, the city has endured a 30 percent increase in shootings.
James will likely address his Twitter post after Cleveland’s practice on Oct. 2.
