Fans and aspiring entrepreneurs alike will soon have a close-up look at the lives of some of your favorite hp-hop heavyweights.
BET recently announced plans for a new reality series to feature the likes of Birdman, Dame Dash, Jermaine Dupri, and Snoop Dogg. The eight-episode series will take an intimate look at how the artists and businessmen balance music, running their respective companies, and their personal lives.
The series is set to be shot in Los Angeles and veteran television producer Lemuel Plummer (“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” “Preachers of L.A.”) will serve as executive producer.
At least two of the cast members have previously dabbled in reality television. In 2005, Dame Dash had a short-lived Apprentice style show on BET called “The Ultimate Hustle,” and the E! Network aired Snoop Dogg’s look at his home life with “Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood” from 2007–2009.
Production for the as of yet untitled new series is set to begin next month and air in 2016.
