A dispute over the last piece of fried chicken turned violent in Houston this past weekend. Police say several witnesses saw the fight, which began over the last piece of homemade fried chicken. Apparently, there was only a drumstick left and the two roommates began arguing. The two then went outside to fight when one of the men was stabbed with a steak knife.
Both men were Cuban and shared the apartment with three other men. According to HPD Homicide Detective Fil Waters, “There was a single drumstick in the pan. … You can’t script this stuff. It’s someone getting killed over a piece of chicken. Pretty tragic.”
The suspect fled the scene but returned later and was arrested.
