Military officials have confirmed the death of German born rapper turned ISIS member Abu Talha al-Almani.

al-Almani, born Denis Cuspert, was two days shy of his 40th birthday when he was killed by an airstrike in Syria on Oct. 16. Reports indicate that missiles from a U.S. fronted coalition struck a pickup truck carrying al-Almani killing him instantly.

Though he once recorded under the name ‘Deso Dogg’, al-Almani quit the rap business after his conversion to Islam. He then joined jihadist group Millatu Ibrahim in his native Germany before moving to the Middle East to join in the military forces of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.

Experts believe that al-Almani soon joined ISIS and begin making pro-ISIS propaganda videos in support of the terrorist group. One particularly gruesome video even featured the former rapper holding a decapitated head while addressing the camera.

Prior to joining ISIS, al-Almani released numerous albums and even toured with DMX in 2006
