When Janice Dickinson first accused Bill Cosby of drugging her and raping her last year, it was well known that her case was out of the statute of limitations to be taken to court, just like many of the other 40+ women who have come forward and accused Cosby of doing the same to them. However, it looks like Dickinson is going to have her day in court because reports have revealed that Dickinson’s lawsuit is going in front of a judge and Cosby and his former lawyer must be deposed this month.

According to the Daily Mail, Dickinson filed a lawsuit against Cosby and his former lawyer, Martin Singer, in May, claiming that she was re-victimized and that her reputation took a major hit when Singer denied her claims that Cosby drugged and raped her in a Lake Tahoe, California hotel room in 1982. Cosby and Singer must now appear in court for the deposition before Nov. 25.

Singer was Cosby’s lawyer for more than a decade and defended him against many rape accusations until Cosby decided to replace Singer with the law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan last month.

This isn’t the first time Singer has been sued for defamation because of Cosby. Back in 2006, Andrea Constand, a Temple University worker who accused Cosby of sexual assault, sued Singer after he denied her claims that Cosby abused her.

In the lawsuit, it was revealed that Singer cut a deal with The National Inquirer that gave them an exclusive interview with Cosby as long as they buried a story about another woman accusing Cosby of rape. Constand ended up settling the lawsuit before it went to trial.

The judge in Dickinson’s case has ruled that her lawyers can only ask Cosby and Singer questions to determine whether the star’s and his attorney’s denials were made maliciously. However, Cosby and Singer will be allowed to refuse to answer some questions based on attorney-client privilege.

Well, we’ll have to wait and see how this plays out, but it’s clear Cosby has a long series of legal battles ahead of him.
