Sheree Whitfield and Kenya Moore got off to a rocky start during the season premiere of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” this month when the two bickered at Cynthia Bailey’s eyewear launch party. But after the dust settled, the two ladies tried to make peace with each other on Sunday night’s episode. However, is their newfound peace for real or is it all just for show?
As previously reported, the drama began weeks ago when Moore brought up Whitfield’s house problems to all of the cast members at the party, telling the group that Whitfield’s neighbors had complained about her unfinished Chateau Sheree bringing down the property values of the neighborhood and that she’d been sanctioned by the city of Atlanta over her unfinished home.
During Sunday night’s episode, Moore invited Whitfield to her hair care launch party, and she and Whitfield spoke about their beef and assured each other that it wasn’t a big deal and that they’d be nicer to each other from there on out.
“When I was invited to Kenya’s event, my initial thoughts were, ‘Oh hell to the no! This chick is uncouth and has zero class.’ Nevertheless, I decided to be a bigger person by showing up and supporting her. I’m all about supporting women and their business endeavors, because so many women choose to do the opposite. For some reason women aren’t as supportive toward other women. I for one know how much time, dedication, and hard work it can take to get a business off the ground, so I salute anyone who is moving forward with their dreams! Kenya has beautiful hair, so this is something I believe she will be really successful at and I wish her all the best! So, aside from the event being a HOT mess (literally) and my natural edges going from slick to kinky in less than 60 seconds, it was a nice hair care event (less the hair care products). She totally owes me a blowout … How do you go to a hair care event and leave with your hair looking worse than when you arrived?” Whitfield wrote in her latest Bravo blog post.
However, Whitfield claims that she still doesn’t trust Moore.
“I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but when someone shows me their hand, I definitely take note and proceed with caution. We agreed to disagree on our issues. I am woman enough to forgive and move forward, yet not crazy enough to forget. I’ll be sleeping with one eye open around this one! We’ll see how it goes,” Whitfield said.
Well, we’re not surprised that these two are the best of friends considering how bad their first on-camera interaction was. But when you’re a Black woman on reality TV, it’s typically hard to find friendship instead of shade.
