Meek Mill found himself in legal trouble, once again, yesterday when he was ordered to appear in a Philadelphia court for allegedly violating his probation over unapproved travels. With Meek’s freedom on the line, the Philly rapper got help from one of the closest people to him — his girlfriend, Nicki Minaj.

As previously reported, Mill has been on probation for a drug and gun conviction from back in 2009 and the court requires him to obtain a travel voucher before leaving his hometown of Philadelphia. Unfortunately for Mill, he reportedly failed to get a voucher to appear at last month’s American Music Awards in L.A.

According to Philly.com, when Mill appeared in court yesterday, prosecutor Noel DeSantis detailed some more bad behavior from him, including being stopped at the Canadian border in August, his infamous beef with Drake, and several instances in which the rapper told his probation officer he would be somewhere, but then he never showed up.

However, Mill’s lawyer, Frank DeSimone, argued that his erratic schedule is simply due to his unique life as a young artist.

“His life is chaos. It’s more immaturity than anything else,” he said. “This is almost a child. He’s 28.”

And DeSimone wasn’t the only one who defended Mill. Read what Minaj had to say on the stand after the cut.
