Caitlyn Jenner may be the most talked about transgender celebrity in the nation, but that doesn’t mean that the she’s always being praised by the people, even when it’s from others in the transgender community. And that became apparent this week when Jenner was blasted by other trans activists and fans after she made a controversial comment in a recent interview.
In TIME’s “Person of the Year” issue, Jenner spoke about the physical appearance of transgender women and said, “If you look like a man in a dress, it makes people uncomfortable.”
Apparently, many in the trans community weren’t pleased with Jenner’s comment and they blasted her online and even called her transphobic.
After the backlash, Jenner posted an open letter on her website, apologizing for the comment and for offending her fellow trans activists. Read a piece of the letter, after the cut.
