Rapper Azealia Banks is again making headlines … for everything but her music.
This time the online-feud prone 24-year-old was arrested early Wednesday morning in New York City after an altercation with a bouncer at the nightclub Up & Down located in the city’s meatpacking district.
The incident began when Banks was escorted out of an exclusive party because she didn’t have the proper hand stamp to be there. According to a partygoer present at the event, things quickly escalated when security began to remove the rapper from the party.
“It was an invite-only party,” the source told the New York Post. “You needed a stamp to get in.”
Security apparently didn’t know who she was and when they started to escort her out, she began “screaming at the top of her lungs, cursing about who she was and that she was on Rihanna’s album.” At this point, Banks allegedly spit in the female bouncer’s face and punched her in the face before biting her on the breast.
Banks was arrested and charged with second-degree harassment, disorderly conduct, and assault with intent to cause physical injury and arraigned later that day.
Thus far, neither Banks nor anyone from her camp has issued a statement on the incident.
