Hillary Clinton is obviously a trailblazing woman in her own right, holding titles such as former first lady, former United States Secretary of State, and now candidate for the 2016 Democratic Party presidential nomination. Although it’s safe to assume Clinton is inspired by the women in politics who came before her, she recently revealed that one modern woman who inspires her excellence is global pop star Beyoncé.

During an appearance on her campaign trail in Iowa this week, a fan asked Clinton if she’d rather be president or be Beyoncé.

“Now, if I really had a choice, I’d rather be president because I can’t sing,” she said. “Nobody would pay to see me sing or dance. Even when I was a way lot younger, it just wasn’t in the cards for me.”

Although Clinton’s vocal chops aren’t up to par, she did explain that she wants to be as successsful in the world of politics as Beyoncé is in the world of music.

“You see her on TV, it’s impressive. You see her in person, you’re just stunned. Thinking like, how does she do that? Really. I mean, she sings, she’s up, she’s down. It’s just amazing. So it’s just not in my astrological reading, I think. So I want to be as good a president as Beyoncé is a performer,” Clinton said.
