While hosting Sunday night’s Miss Universe 2015 pageant, Steve Harvey made one of the most awkward blunders in television history when he announced the wrong winner.

The comedian announced Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, as winner of the competition. As the beauty queen stood onstage celebrating her victory, Harvey looked as though he realized he made an embarrassing mistake, and he had.

“I have to apologize,” he told the crowd. “The first runner-up is Colombia.”

Miss Colombia’s smile instantly turned sour as she realized that Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, was the actual winner.

“This is exactly what’s on the card,” Harvey said. “I will take responsibility for this. It was my mistake. It was on the card … Please don’t hold it against the ladies.”

The show ended on an strange note, with Miss Colombia being decrowned and a confused-looking Miss Philippines being crowned Miss Universe 2015.

A photo of the card from which Harvey erroneously read has been circulating on Twitter, causing some to find it understandable that the television host got confused.

Harvey took to Twitter to apologize for the mistake, although he later deleted the original tweet, possibly due to misspelling both countries.

Am I the only one that thinks this may have been done on purpose? Steve Harvey/Miss Universe has been a top trending topic all day! Who would even know who won if this had not happen!? The Miss Universe pageant is so irrelevant and outdated Donald Trump gave it up. This was the best thing that could of happened for it.

Worth a thought. Kenya Moore gets upset about her win and I couldn’t tell you if she won Miss America or Miss USA. And that goes for Vanessa Williams. This antiquated pageant and the others, means nothing. Only entertaining because of last night.

Miss Philippines will now be the new Suzette Charles. No one will remember that she won because everyone feels so bad for Miss Colombia.

You mean the same way your English teacher should have lost her job after passing you? Seriously you sound really uneducated. How can you make so many errors in a comment barely longer than one line?

Anyhow, Yayyyy Steve Harvey You GO Boy!!! Lets face it, if it was NOT for Mr. Harvey and his Bold Move the only thing people would have remembered the Pageant for is its funeral (due to the FACT that Donald Dropped that mess in the year 2015). Mr. Harvey is the Best Man on TV right now, that is why they put him on to host the pageant (they knew it would get allot of views, people wanted to see what Steve was going to bring to the table, and boy didn’t he BRING IT). Steve Harvey doesn’t care who try to check him, cause really, they wont. Who wants their dirty laundry aired out on TV by non other than Mr. Hell I don’t give a Damn Harvey? Lol, move on Bitches COLOMBIA(laugh OUT loud) knew she didn’t win duhhhh they practiced all day. Laugh out loud, only The Audiences seem surprised.
