Former NFL players Bob Whitfield and Chris Draft were spotted on New Year’s Day at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA. Bob, Eartha Whitfield and all of Bob’s children were in Pasadena in support of Stanford University football safety Kodi Whitfield (son of Bob Whitfield, former O-lineman for the Atlanta Falcons). This was the 102nd Rose Bowl game in Pasadena and several sports journalists are calling this game one of the best football games Stanford has played this season.
With no playoff games in site for the Stanford football team, they were still able to have a blowout win against Iowa, ending in a score of 45-16. This would make the second win for Stanford in four years. The Stanford Daily described the win: “It was a storybook end to the season for David Shaw’s team, a perfect send-off for the Cardinal’s senior class and yet another chapter in the tale of the Stanford football powerhouse.”
Chris Draft was also spotted supporting his Stanford alma mater.
Bob Whitfield’s family friends and the crew were on hand to history in the making, as this would mark Kodi’s second Rose Bowl win and his final game in college football. He is all set to graduate this year. Kodi is soon to be NFL bound. We will keep you posted on the details. The last time we spotted Bob and all his children on the West Coast was at his graduation from Stanford in 2012.
It was great to see Chris Draft out in good spirits as this time of the year he is busy hosting fundraisers and participating in programs fighting cancer in honor of his late wife Keisha Draft who lost her battle with cancer four years ago.
