Although Harris was sentenced to eight years, it’s been reported for weeks that he may not have to serve the full sentence because he previously served 15 months before posting bail. His sentence may also be reduced because of good behavior and current sentencing guidelines for drug-related crimes that are under consideration for change.
In a new interview, Harris spoke about his prison stint and claimed that he doubts he’ll have to serve the full sentence.
“I’m not going to be serving the eight years in jail. The only way you serving [sic] eight years [is] if you go in there [are are] seen [as a] troublemaker. You know, I’m not that kind of person. There’s a lot of programs to knock off time too, so nobody’s really doing that,” he said.
“[Eight years is] not the worst. The worst could’ve been 20 years, but eight years with good [behavior] and programs is five years, so let’s get this over with,” he added.
