LisaRaye’s new film, “Skinned,” is taking on the issue of colorism in the Black community with its story about a Black woman who bleaches her skin in order to look Whiter. However, while promoting her film, the actress and director blasted the practice of skin bleaching and now it looks like she might have to pay a hefty price for it thanks to an angry skin bleaching entrepreneur.
LisaRaye made the comments last week when she appeared on Big Tigger’s radio show on V-103 and blasted the infamous skin bleaching cream Whitenicious, claiming that the cream causes cancer and leaves users’ knuckles and elbows darker than the rest of their lightened skin.
Well, when Cameroonian pop singer Dencia, who owns Whitenicious, got wind of LisaRaye’s comments, she wasn’t happy at all and according to media reports, she got her lawyer to send LisaRaye a demand for a retraction on her comments.
In the document, Dencia allegedly claims that there is no evidence that her cream causes cancer or that it leaves dark spots on the body.
There’s no word yet on what LisaRaye thinks of Dencia’s demands, but we imagine this could turn into a messy situation.
