Kendrick Lamar provided one of the most powerful performances in the history of the Grammy Awards. The Compton-bred rapper used impactful imagery to tell a story of how racism affects the lives of Blacks in America.
He opened in a prison uniform and shackled to other men while performing “Blacker the Berry,” he performed “Alright” with African drummers and dancers, and he closed his set with a new song which paid tribute to the memory of Trayvon Martin.
However, similar to some reactions to Beyoncé’s Super Bowl performance, Lamar also faced some backlash. Some people were upset over Lamar’s performance and called it “racist” and offensive.
But their reactions proved that some Americans are still against Blacks who have an opinion or speak out against the injustices that take place in this country.
Below are some of the reactions against Lamar’s performance.
What was strong or powerful or anything about that performance? Awful

Hey Kendrick, if you obey the law… you won’t go to prison. It doesn’t matter what color you are.

Kendrick Lamar does it and it’s called ‘art’, but if Justin Bieber performed with a bunch of black people in chains he’d be called ‘racist’

@GMA @kendricklamar I didn’t like the words. I felt it to be too racist. End the violence with loving words, not anger.
