Kylie Jenner may have appeared to be “Team Yeezy” during Kanye West’s NYFW fashion show, recently held at Madison Square Garden. But it seems as if the reality star has another brand partnership in mind when it comes to taking over the fashion industry. Earlier this week, it was announced that the youngest Jenner sibling signed a deal with Puma and has even wrapped shooting her first campaign with popular women’s wear brand.
The news comes on the heels of West’s epic Twitter rant, aimed at Puma, following rumors of a seven-figure deal with the teen star. The controversial rapper tweeted, “1000% there will never be a Kylie Puma anything.” West, who has an exclusive deal with Adidas, added, “That’s on my family! 1000% Kylie is on Yeezy team!!!”
“Puma we gone give you your measly million dollars back!!! Never try to divide the family!!!” he continued. As you can imagine, the news of Jenner’s deal blind-sided the 38-year-old rapper. “She had already signed – I was mad for a little bit. But I’m really happy for her now,” West told TMZ on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at LAX.
While there seems to be peace for now, we wonder how Jenner’s new partnership will affect her personal realtionship with Ye. As you may recall, the 18-year-old was featured on the rapper’s first two ranges of Yeezy Season. Most recently, she modeled the rapper’s Yeezy clothing and footwear as she rocked the runway during New York Fashion Week back in November and February of 2015.
As for the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star’s new deal, according to reports, the lip kit creator will only serve as a face for Puma to wear and take pictures in the company’s gear, unlike global ambassador Rihanna, who has a hand in designing items in the brand’s collection including shoes and apparel.
