Toya Wright and K. Michelle have had a long and messy history of feuding with each over their mutual ex, Memphitz. As fans know, K. Michelle told the world that Memphitz abused her in their previous relationship and the two women ended up beefing after Wright accused K. Michelle of lying about Memphitz. But after Wright and her husband ended up splitting, it seemed like Wright and K. Michelle might be able to squash their issues. However, hopes for peace were dashed when the two women ended up bashing each other again recently. Now, Wright has opened up about her never-ending feud with K. Michelle, as well as her tumultuous relationship with Memphitz.
According to media reports, in a new interview, Wright discusses the tension between her and K. Michelle, which included them blasting each other online earlier this month after Wright posted an image for the cover of her new book, How to Lose a Husband. Wright claims that she doesn’t want any troubles with K. Michelle, but she says K. Michelle is the one constantly instigating their beef.
“I don’t have a problem with K. Michelle. I think she’s a very beautiful girl, very talented. The whole social media thing came about because I just felt like I was being picked on and I ignored it time and time again. You know she called me dumb and dumber. She said she was gonna smack me on sight. Then you laugh at my book cover. I’m a woman that wants to see all women win. I would never tear down your music or discredit what you do. Don’t discredit what I do. I just feel like the whole situation was petty. We were both given a platform and to use it in that way to kind of bash each other and go back and forth, I thought it was unnecessary,” Wright said.
Wright then opened up about K. Michelle’s accusations that Memphitz was verbally and physically abusive to her during their relationship.
“I wasn’t there. I don’t have anything to do with that situation. I never called her a liar. I never will call her a liar. I never defended my husband. I supported my husband. I supported the man that I know and still to this day. You can’t get upset with me for supporting someone that I’m married to. I’m just being a supportive wife. I never said ‘you are lying’ because I mean, it’s not my business and it’s still not and it has nothing to do with me,” Wright explained.
But K. Michelle isn’t the only one who has problems with Wright. Last year, Wright and Memphitz split and the former couple ended up in the tabloids when it was revealed that Memphitz had a “free hall pass” to step out on their marriage and sleep with other women for a few days out of the year. Since then, Wright has done damage control over the topic, but she finally gave some more clarity on the matter as well.
