Meek Mill is seeking leniency from the judge that sentenced him to 90 days of house arrest last month.

According to TMZ, the 28-year-old rapper born Robert Rihmeek Williams has filed an appeal through his lawyer, Joe Tacopina, asking for certain stipulations of his house arrest to be lifted.

Though he’s only a week into his three month house arrest sentence, Meek is reportedly frustrated that he’s not allowed to perform or even record music in his home studio and feels the harsh stipulations are hindering his ability to make a living for himself. Numerous reports also state that the house arrest is putting a strain on his relationship with girlfriend Nicki Minaj, who he is said to have asked to stay with him throughout the ordeal. Minaj is reported to be apprehensive about staying the whole time and is worried about hindering her own career and missing opportunities.

Minaj has thus far been very supportive of Meek, even testifying at his hearing and telling Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley that the Dreamchasers CEO has matured drastically since they first began dating and has taken steps to turn his life around. Though he was able to avoid additional jail time, his probation was extended another six years in addition to the house arrest.

Last year, Meek served five months in jail after violating the terms of a gun case he caught in 2008. Since then, he has violated his parole a number of times including traveling to perform without consent and trying to pass off water as urine during one of his required drug tests. He reportedly broke down during testifying and told Judge Brinkley that his “whole life is on the line” and that he was not a gangster.

As it currently stands, Meek is not allowed to leave the house for any reason other than to take part in community service activities.
