All season long on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” fans and cast mates alike have been debating whether newcomer Kim Fields was a good fit with the other ladies on the show. Although there were definitely valid arguments on both sides as to why Fields was or wasn’t a great addition to the cast, there won’t be anything for fans to debate next season about her because Fields recently revealed that she’s walking away from “RHOA.”
According to media reports, Fields recently spoke about her freshman venture into reality TV and when she was asked about whether she plans to return to “RHOA,” she explained that her time on the show is done.
“Feels more like Brett Favre and the Jets, you know — I’m done,” Fields said. “I mean, and think about too, at the beginning of the season, what did my mama say? ‘Get in and get out’… listen to your mama!”
Fields then explained why she decided to join the show and why she doesn’t feel the need to continue her journey on “RHOA.”
“It was for the experience, it was to be able to do a genre that I’d been asked to do before and finding a way to do it that makes sense for my team and my family… Overall it was a really great experience,” Fields added.
We can’t say that we’re surprised that Fields is giving up her “RHOA” peach after just one season on the show. While she did present a more laid-back, stripped down and “normal” persona for “RHOA” fans as opposed to her glossier cast mates, it never seemed like she had the shady attitude or fire for confrontation that makes for good reality TV. But fans will still get to see her on TV now that she’s a cast member on season 22 of “Dancing with the Stars,” which began last night on ABC.
