Zaytoven and Drumma Boy have both established themselves as top hip-hop producers over the past decade. The two recently faced-off in a display of friendly completion at the 2016 BMI Urban Showcase.
Held at Terminal West in Atlanta, the event featured opening performances by Bre-Z of “Empire,” Jacques, and Elhae. Pastor Troy also performed his hits “No Mo Play in GA,” and “Vice Versa” before he was honored with the Legends of Atlanta Award. Past recipients of the honor include Big Oomp, Dallas Austin, Big Boi, Organized Noize, Lil Jon, and DJ Toomp.
Pastor Troy’s honor was followed by Zaytoven and Drumma Boy’s producer battle. Zaytoven, who crafted a lot of the Atlanta Trap music sound, opened with several songs from Gucci Mane before bringing OJ Da Juice Man to perform his 2009 hit, “Make The Trap Say Aye.” Zaytoven also brought out Young Dolph who performed “Preach,” and B.o.B and London Jae who performed “BDTDT.”
Drumma Boy gave attendees a reminder of his extensive catalog by playing his major hits such as Jeezy’s “Put On” which featured Kanye West and Jay Z; “Shawty by Plies; and Pastor Troy returned to perform the 2006 hit, “Drop that A—.”
