With the success of the New York, Atlanta and Hollywood versions of “Love & Hip Hop,” it was only a matter of time before creator and producer Mona Scott-Young decided to expand the brand, once again, and bring the series to a new city. Now, it’s been revealed that Miami will be the location of the next version of the popular franchise. And the show has already cast its first hip-hop heavyweight – Trick Daddy.
Trick recently revealed the big news to Bossip and explained that he wants to give a proper portrayal of himself and the city of Miami on the show.
“I just met with Mona last week and we’re trying to do this thing right. Put some real Miami b—— and real Miami n—– on the show. It’s all gonna come out on the show. We’re just trying to do what we do, do what I do,” Trick explained.
He added, “I’m really doing Love & Hip Hop Miami because there’s a difference between Old Cutler money and South Beach money. Old Cutler money is grandfathered in, South Beach is investors. One thing I won’t do is make a fool of myself. If we gone make a fool of somebody it won’t be me, so it’ll be interesting.”
According to the veteran rapper, much of his storyline will revolve around him managing aspiring rappers Mike Smith and former RO cover star PreMadonna, who already has a successful waist trainer business. Rumors also claim that PreMadonna’s husband will try to sign Trick to his own label, as well.
Besides Trick Daddy, other sites are also reporting that Trick’s fellow hip-hop friend, Trina, might be signed to star in the show, as well. While that rumor is unconfirmed, there still may be a chance that Trina will at least make a guest appearance on the show since she and Trick are friends.
Trick will reportedly begin filming for the show in May, but there’s no word yet on when “Love & Hip Hop Miami” will make its debut on Vh1.
