Earlier this month, music fans were dealt a blow when Janet Jackson announced that she was postponing her Unbreakable tour until 2017 to focus on planning a family with her husband, Wissam Al Mana. At the time, Jackson didn’t give any details about what she meant when she said family planning. However, now reports have emerged with alleged details about Jackson’s plans for a baby.
As previously reported, Jackson made the major announcement via her Instagram page and asked fans to please understand why she was choosing to focus on her family instead of her career.
“My husband and I are planning our family,” Jackson said in the video clip. “I’m going to have to delay the tour. Please understand that it’s important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor orders. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can.”
Not surprisingly, many fans assumed that the 49-year-old singer might be pregnant with Al Mana’s child. However, new media reports claim that Jackson and her husband do indeed plan to have kids, but they plan on having them via adoption or a surrogate mother.
“Janet has put her fans first her whole life. They are her world and, of course, she is devastated that she had to postpone the tour for another year,” the insider said.
Sources say that Jackson’s cancer scare last year, in which she had a tumor removed from her throat, had a deep effect on her and made her realize that she wants to have a family of her own before it’s too late.
“But Janet’s health crisis this year really made her much more aware of her age,” the source said. “She is approaching 50 and at this stage of her life all that she wants is to become a mother.”
The sources also say that Jackson’s billionaire husband really wants to have children as well.
“She is devoted to her husband and has decided to put his needs before her own needs right now,” the source added. “He really wants to start a family with her.”
Well, we hope things work out for the couple and that they’re able to welcome a baby into their lives this year.
