ATLANTA – Sixty-six graduates walked across the stage at Crim High School this spring, having completed their final year at Wesley International Academy. More than a third of these graduates began at WIA in kindergarten, comprising the founding class of the school.
This diverse and exceptional class excelled in their years at the school. Students participated on championship cheerleading, football, basketball, and baseball teams. They medaled in the APS Science and Engineering Fair and represented WIA on championship robotics teams. Eighteen in the class are graduating with advanced math algebra credits.
As a part of WIA’s Mandarin Chinese program, 21 students passed the Youth Chinese Test for non-native speakers. Eighteen class members traveled to China to study at Nanjing University for four weeks.
“We are extremely proud of the graduating class of 2016. We know they will go on to do great things in the world,” says Dr. Keisha Hancock, interim executive director of WIA.
These graduates will continue their education at an unprecedented 10 different high schools this fall, including but not limited to: Maynard H. Jackson High School; Riverwood High School; Grady High School; Westlake High School; Woodberry Forest School (Woodberry, Virginia); Baylor School (Chattanooga, Tennessee); and The Wheeler School.
