Last month, things between “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” stars Waka Flocka and his wife, Tammy Rivera, seemed to be over for good when Rivera abruptly revealed that she’d broken up with Waka. However, after a high-profile public apology from Waka, it looks like the couple worked things out and they recently explained why they decided to reconcile.
As previously reported, the drama all started in June when Rivera posted on Instagram about the breakup from Waka.
“Me and Waka [sic] separation had nothing to do with ANYONE! Waka did not leave me for ANYONE lol,” Rivera wrote. “We made a mutual decision that we needed to separate, Sometime ppl use other people’s lives to prey off and get attention, I guess for IG likes or followers.”
However, rumors were flying that the reason for the split is that Waka cheated on Rivera and he eventually went on Instagram and owned up to his infidelity and apologized to his wife of two years for cheating on her.
“#myrideordie #Facetime #SleepyHead lol She the realist!!! Her strength carried my family!!! Her faith!! Her prayer!!! She always say I have a choice!!!! She showed me the streets ain’t s— and I’m somebody these young n—as look up 2!!!! I’m sorry I embarrassed her!!!! She literally know [sic] everything and still opened her arms 4me #DefinitionOfArider,” Waka wrote.
According to media reports, Rivera and Waka recently sat down for a new interview and Rivera explained that they’re back together and “working” on their marriage. And despite the rumors, Rivera explained that she didn’t catch Waka cheating online.
“The stuff he got caught with wasn’t even in the public,” Rivera says. “Those girls are really faking.”
Waka also spoke about their breakup and shared that his “ego” was the problem and that he was cheating on Rivera to try to impress his friends. However, he explained that after the split he realized how important Rivera was to him and he shared why he decided to publicly apologize to Rivera and save his marriage.
“Honestly, it wasn’t for no [sic] public thing. She just wasn’t answering my calls,” Waka admitted. “Honest to God truth is I want a family, you know what I’m saying? I want the real love. Especially me being ‘Waka Flocka’ it ain’t real around me, you know what I’m saying? It’s kinda too real. I can’t become a man because that little boy is still just lurkin’ around, you feel me?”
Well, we’re happy that Rivera and Waka worked things out. What do you think of them getting back together? Let us know in the comments.
