Miller Lite’s Tap The Future entrepreneur pitch competition heated up as the 2016 tour hit Philadelphia for its second of six stops. Building momentum from a big kick off in Houston two days earlier, the crowd was anxious and very excited to watch the presenters. There were five brave teams that got on stage in front of a full house and “Shark” Daymond John and his team of judges to give their best shot at winning the $20,000 local competition, which would also earn them the right to compete with five other regional winners for a chance to win the $200,000 2016 grand prize.
The winning team was CosmoSafe, a boutique beauty education company with major plans in the cosmetics and cosmetology safety arena. Founders Angela Ivana and Jaleesa Jaikaran are holding the sign in the center of picture above and gave a detailed overview of their growth plans, including how they’ve patented their business methods to add protection from copycats to the services they’re offering. Their service provides online training and education, particularly covering the safety aspects related to using cosmetics. Considering the allergic reactions and serious safety problems that people have had from using and mixing products, there will be lots of demand for what they offer. They’re also working on a book to further strengthen their place in the marketplace.
The host for the night was The Lifestyle Specialist, Kenny Burns, and L.A. DJ B-Hen supplied the sounds that kept the event flowing and fun.
We wish CosmoSafe luck in the finals! See the pictures below.
