It’s safe to say Adrienne Bailon is living her very own fairy tale.

During a recent appearance on “Hollywood Today Live!,” the 32-year-old actress and talk-show host gushed over her engagement, dubbing the special moment “magical.”

“I was surprised with my parents showing up in Paris. I didn’t know. There was some trickery going on,” Bailon said of Houghton popping the question in Paris. As previously reported, the pair went public with their big news just two weeks ago, just months after Bailon ended her seven-month engagement to Lenny Santiago, who proposed in February 2015.

“It honestly was just magical. My parents being there was so special to me. They actually were celebrating 20 years of marriage. I thought originally that we were just celebrating them and then obviously when the surprise happened, I was super excited and super happy. I can’t wait,” Bailon continued.

You. Me. Oui.

Although the news shocked some fans, Bailon went on to reveal that while the duo only dated for six months prior to getting engaged, they had been close friends for several years. “I think that makes a big difference,” Bailon said of building a friendship before getting involved romantically. “Being older you kind of know what you want. I think when you’re younger, you have to date around — kind of see what you like, what you don’t.”

The former Cheetah Girl said of her 45-year-old fiancé: “I knew exactly what I wanted and he is everything I wanted and more. He’s awesome. He is my best friend. I think that makes such a big difference.”

As for those still looking for love, stay encouraged. After all, Bailon never saw it [love] coming. “We never thought we’d end up together,” Bailon admitted of their relationship. “We’d hang out with a bunch of friends and I would say ridiculous things out of my mouth that I probably wouldn’t say if I really liked him. And then he got to know the real me and I love that.”
